McCormick taps Kuehne + Nagel to manage its global logistics
McCormick & Co., the Sparks, Md.-based spice shipper, has picked Kuehne + Nagel to manage its global logistics needs.
McCormick spent the past year devising and implementing a plan to put its day-to-day global logistics management into the hands of single freight forwarder. The company and its overseas subsidiaries previously worked with more than 200 transportation and logistics service providers on different aspects of the supply chain.
To win this contract, Kuehne + Nagel had to prove it could meet McCormick’s systems requirements and own at least 90 percent of its offices at origin and destination points of the spice company’s global business.
In the early stages of the implementation, McCormick will phase in transportation and brokerage services with Kuehne + Nagel, initially focusing on the U.S. and European imports and exports.
