APS appoints McMinn VP engineering
APS Technology Group, a provider of optical character recognition (OCR) and automation technology for marine and intermodal terminals, has appointed Michael McMinn to vice president of engineering.
McMinn will be responsible for all APS products, software development and research and development for all marine and intermodal product lines. Started in 2002, San Diego-based APS Technology has more than 700 gate OCR and automation packages installed at 39 marine and intermodal terminals in 14 countries.
McMinn has 22 years of engineering and product development experience in the imaging technology and shipping industries. Before joining APS, he was product manager for SAIC of San Diego, leading the company's marine and intermodal automation systems development. Before that, he was president and chief engineer of Zedec Vision Systems, a developer of analytical imaging systems.
