Hapag-Lloyd has announced several rate increases.
- Effective August 18, it will increase rates for all cargo and container type moving from the Far East to Mediterranean or North Europe by $650 per TEU.
- Effective September 1, it will implement a General Rate Increase for dry, reefer, flat rack and open-top containers from East Asia to all U.S. and Canada destinations. The increase amounts will be $480 per TEU, $600 per FEU, $650 for high-cube containers, and $760 for 45-foot containers.
- Effective October 1, it will increase rates from the U.S. to Australia/New Zealand. The increase from the West Coast and Gulf will be $250 per TEU and $500 per FEU. From the East Coast, the amount will be $150 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
