HAPAG-LLOYD TAKES SPACE ON NORASIA’S MED/CANADA LINK
Hapag-Lloyd has introduced a direct service connecting
Montreal to the Mediterranean by taking space on the existing service operated by Norasia.
From early February, Hapag-Lloyd will operate a chartered 1,000-TEU ship, the
"Canada Express," as part of the joint service.
Hapag-Lloyd said that the service will start calling at Genoa eastbound
during the second quarter.
Seven containerships of about 1,000-TEU capacity are employed in the service,
with a rotation of Montreal, Felixstowe, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Genoa, Alexandria, Haifa,
Izmir, Naples, Genoa, Southampton, Zeebrugge, Hamburg and Montreal.
Hapag-Lloyd and Norasia are non-conference carriers in the
Canada/Mediterranean trade.
