AIRBORNE TAKES OVER FRENCH FORWARDER

Airborne has taken over the operations of its former French service partner, Pagtrans SA, and will operate the company as Airborne Express France.

“Our international strategy is to provide cost-efficient, highly reliable services for our customers, by using the right combination of service partners, joint ventures, and company-owned operations,” said Bruce Grout, senior vice president of international services for Airborne, based in Seattle. “France is an important market for us, and the time is right to expand our capabilities.”

Airborne Express France is based in Roissy at Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport. The new company has branch offices in Toulouse, Lille, Lyon and Marne la Vallee. The services include air express and heavy freight, ocean forwarding, logistics and customs brokerage.

Some of Airborne’s biggest customers in the region are Essilor, Schneider, Biomerieuz, Alcatel, GE Medical and Reebok.
