CKYH alliance studies additional U.S. East Coast all-water link
COSCO Container Lines and its alliance partners — “K” Line, Hanjin Shipping and Yang Ming — are discussing a plan to launch another all-water Asia/Panama/U.S. East Coast container service this fall.
Described as a preliminary study, the plan depends on the availability of ships, and only COSCO has found ships that could be deployed in the new service, so far.
It is not clear which of the carriers in the CKYH alliance would participate in the operation of the potential new service. COSCO may run a fortnightly service on its own if its partners do not come up with additional ships.
