“K” Line, SITC in joint Japan/North China service
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. and China-based SITC Container Lines will provide a revised joint North China to Japan service from Oct. 22.
Three 668-TEU ships, two provided by “K” Line and one by SITC, will then provide two separate fixed-day weekly links between Japan and north China, with a round voyage every 21 days.
One link will serve Japan’s eastern part (Kanto and Nagoya) and other the west (Kansai), with ships alternating between the two
The full “butterfly-style” rotation of the service is Xingang
(Wednesday/Thursday), Dalian (Thursday/Friday), Tokyo (Tuesday/Tuesday), Yokohama (Tuesday/Wednesday), Nagoya (Wednesday/Thursday), Xingang (Monday/Tuesday), Dalian (Tuesday/Wednesday), Moji (Friday/Friday), Osaka (Saturday/Saturday), Kobe (Sunday/Sunday) and Xingang.
This service will replace “K”Line’s current Dalian/Japan service (Kansai).
“With the ever increasing international trade to and from China since that country became a member of the World Trade Organization, the trade between North China (Xingang, Dalian) and Japan ports is now being focused with highest concern,” “K” Line said.
