LOGISTICS.COM LAUNCHES E-MARKETPLACE
Logistics.com, Inc., based in Burlington, Mass., is launching an electronic exchange for buyers and sellers of transportation services called Digital Transportation Marketplace.
Logistics.com said that it has also added OptiBid_Online, an “auctioning tool for tactical procurement,” as a main entry point to the new digital exchange.
“Since the Digital Transportation Marketplace is a multi-attribute system, auctions are not based solely on price, but on approximately 40 parameters such as accessorial charges, capacity, performance and shipper-specific requirements,” the company said.
Other auctioning tools provided by Logistics.com include OptiBid_RFP for strategic freight contracts and OptiBid_Now for operational level spot markets.
More than 35 shippers use the company’s auctioning tools and processed $5 billion worth of strategic freight contracts through them, the company said.
