Ken Soerensen, executive director of the European Liner Affairs Association, has resigned after heading the a Brussels-based liner carrier lobby group during its first two years.

He will leave June 30 to take a job within the industry and will not renew his current two-year contract with the association.

The European Liner Affairs Association has not said who will succeed Soerensen and said it has begun the process of recruiting a successor.

Klaus Meves, chairman of the European Liner Affairs Association and of the German shipping group Hamburg Sud, said Soerensen’s energy to the current review process of EC Regulation 4056/86 has been “outstanding.”

“The members thank him for his contribution,” Meves added.
