Maersk Line to raise Alameda Corridor rail surcharge

   Maersk Line will next month raise its Alameda Corridor rail surcharge for all containers moving through the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach through or out of Southern California.

   Effective Nov. 24, the surcharges — applicable whether or not cargo actually transits the corridor — will be:

   * $18 per 20-foot container (from $17).

   * $36 per 40-foot standard and high cube container (from $34).

   * $40 per 45-foot container (from $38).

   “This change is in response to a user fee increase by the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority,” Maersk said.
