TMM LINES INTRODUCES ONLINE BILLS OF LADING
Washington-based law firm Katten Muchin Zavis has announced the roll out of a new trade alliance that will cater to the issues facing the emerging Internet-driven trade services industry.
“International trade is very complicated and e-commerce is very complicated, and where the two intersect makes it even more complicated,” said Don Luther, trade specialist at Katten Muchin Zavis’ Global Trade Advisory Group. “There’s lots of issues that these firms could come together to resolve.”
The Global Electronic Trade Alliance will hold its first meeting — the Symposium of International E-commerce Solutions — on Dec. 5 at the Sheraton in Tysons Corner, Va. The meeting will include speakers from both the e-commerce industry and U.S. government agencies.
Luther said the trade alliance hopes to serve as a consensus builder and lobbying arm on e-commerce issues.
