Alabama port loses intermodal director

Don Palmer, director of the International Intermodal Center for the port of Huntsville in Alabama, resigned from his post before the holidays. Mitch Bradley, the center’s manager, will serve as acting director until a successor is found, a port official confirmed. The port has not yet begun a search for a new director.

Huntsville is an inland port served by air, rail and truck. The center is a U.S. customs port of entry and a foreign trade zone.

Palmer said he hoped to get a private sector job in the north Alabama area. In the meantime, he remains active in the North Alabama International Trade Association, an industrial development board for the city of Madison, and the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
