CNF Inc., the transportation group based in Palo Alto, Calif., said that its operations and those of its subsidiary companies Con-Way Transportation Services and Menlo Worldwide are not affected by the Consolidated Freightways bankruptcy announcement.

CNF “is a separate company from Consolidated Freightways Corp.,” the company said. The two companies have been unrelated legal entities since Consolidated Freightways was spun off from CNF in 1996.

CNF is a $4.9 billion company with businesses in regional trucking, air freight, ocean freight, customs brokerage, global logistics management and trailer manufacturing.
