ROADWAY EXPRESS TONNAGE DOWN 11%
Roadway Express said the trucking firm’s tonnage levels are as much as 11 percent below last year.
The Akron, Ohio-based company warned that the drop will negatively impact its revenue by about 0.5 percent .
Roadway attributed the decline to the overall slowing of the U.S. economy, which has particularly impacted the company’s less-than-truckload operations.
Roadway’s chairman Michael W. Wickham said “the industry’s pricing environment continues to be firm, mitigating the impact of the reduced tonnage.”
