New 37,000-deadweight-ton product tank vessel joins OMI fleet
OMI Corp., a Stamford, Conn.-based tanker owner and operator, has taken delivery of the first of seven 37,000 deadweight ton product carriers from the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea.
OMI has entered the vessel, the “Loire,” in a five-year time charter with an oil company. “This vessel and four of the six sister ships to follow are time chartered for five years from delivery, adding to our secured growth, improving our age profile and putting us in a leading position in ice-class product carriers,” said Craig H. Stevenson Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of OMI, in a statement.
OMI operates a fleet of 37 vessels.
