Bristol Port Co. orders post-Panamax crane from Kalmar
United Kingdom-based Bristol Port Co. has ordered one post-Panamax ship-to-shore container crane from Swedish Kalmar Industries, destined for the deep-sea terminal in Bristol’s Royal Portbury dock. Financial details were not disclosed.
The crane has an outreach of 45 meters, and is capable of handling ships 17 containers wide.
“Bristol Port Company has announced its intention to develop a tidal deep-sea container terminal with an annual capacity of 1.5 million TEUs. With its excellent track record, Kalmar Industries will be bidding strongly for this project,” said David Fairweather, managing director of Kalmar Ltd.
