U.S., CANADA JOINT CUSTOMS TEAMS TO MONITOR BORDER TRAFFIC
The U.S. and Canadian governments will have joint teams of customs inspectors in the Canadian ports of Vancouver, Montreal, and Halifax, and at the U.S. ports of Seattle-Tacoma and Newark, N.J., to target marine containers destined for either country by March 25.
“This initiative will contribute to the secure and efficient flow of goods across the Canada-U.S. border,” the governments said.
The joint customs teams are part of the 30-point Smart Border Action Plan to prevent terrorist attacks against North America.
