MANUFACTURERS LAUNCH COLINX
Manufacturers INA Holding Schaeffler KG, Rockwell Automation, The SKF Group, and The Timken Co. have agreed to share online services and integrated logistics for premium-brand products.
In North American, the companies have formed CoLinx LLC, owned equally by all four partners, to manage the operation. CoLinx will acquire both the assets of PTplace.com, an electronic commerce Web site for Rockwell Automation Power Systems, and the shared logistics divisions of SKF and Rockwell.
Don Louis, director of e-business for Rockwell Automation, will serve as president of CoLinx.
The founding companies will bring “the best of e-business to the real world of industry,” said Michael C. Arnold, president for the industrial portion of The Timken Co., in Greenville, S.C.
