Momentum buys forwarder

Momentum Transportation USA, an independent Landstar agency, has acquired Suncoast Ocean Lines, a freight forwarder and non-vessel-operating common carrier based in North Ft. Myers, Fla.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“The addition of Suncoast to the Momentum team adds to our international capabilities, and specifically increases our capacity to service the European market,” said Brian Putzke, president of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Momentum, in a statement. “We are pleased to be able to expand the breadth of services we are able to offer new and existing customers.”
Suncoast has been providing ocean freight forwarding services to Europe and Asia since 2006. Now as the Momentum International Suncoast Division, services will continue to include global door-to-door, port-to-port and airport-to-airport, Momentum said.
