FMC FILES ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REPORT TO WHITE HOUSE
The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission has completed and filed its annual performance report for fiscal YEAR 2001 to the director of the administration’s Office of Management and Budget, and to certain members of Congress.
The report, which is required under the Government Performance and Results Act, reviews the FMC’s actual performance in fiscal 2001 compared to its projected levels of performance during that time.
Some areas of performance covered by the report involve operations of the agency under the second year of the Ocean Shipping Reform Act and improvements made by the FMC to its Alternative Dispute Resolution program. The report also covered the FMC’s progress on voluntary industry compliance to regulations and better public access to agency information.
“Our processes remained appropriate, our productivity high, and we were successful in achieving the results-driven objectives of GPRA,” the FMC said in the report. “Despite specific obstacles and an extensive workload, we are gratified by our accomplishments.”
