COSCO charters five 8,500-TEU ships
COSCO Container Lines has signed a contract with Greek shipowner Costamare Shipping Co. to charter five newly built post-Panamax 8,500-TEU ships for a period of 10 years.
The vessels will be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea and are scheduled for delivery from February-August 2006.
“After delivery this series of vessels will be deployed in COSCO Container Lines’ east/west main liner service,” the Chinese carrier said.
