L.A. mayor narrows list for port chief
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has narrowed his list of candidates for executive director of the Port of Los Angeles to three, the Daily Breeze of Torrance, Calif. reported over the weekend.
The candidates are: Geraldine Knatz, Port of Long Beach managing director of development; Stacey Jones, the No. 2 official at the Port of Los Angeles; and Tay Yoshitani, a former No. 2 at the Port of Los Angeles harbor before going on to run the ports of Baltimore and Oakland.
The newspaper reported that Villaraigosa conducted interviews with the candidates Friday to replace acting director Bruce Seaton, who took over from Larry Keller more than a year ago.
