New 1,500-TEU ship for Yang Ming
Yang Ming Marine took delivery Monday of the 1,500-TEU containership “YM Harmony” built by China Shipbuilding Corp. (CSBC).
The ship is the second of four 1,500-TEU ships ordered by Yang Ming from CSBC in 2003. In addition, another 12 1,800-TEU vessels are to be delivered by CSBC to Yang Ming by the end of 2007.
The “YM Harmony” has a length of 168.8 meters (554 feet) and breadth of 27 meters (89 feet). The ship will be deployed in the weekly transpacific “CY-PNW” joint service between Yang Ming and COSCO Container Lines.
