MITSUI ADOPTS BOLERO ELECTRONIC SYSTEM
Mitsui, Japan’s gigantic trading house, said that it
will implement the bolero.net electronic system in its global operations.
With annual revenues of $116 billion, Mitsui’s international network
spans 900 companies in 93 countries.
Bolero.net will be used for the reporting of monthly accounting
information from subsidiaries and group companies worldwide, as well as for the exchange
of trade documents.
The Japanese group expects to be able to start introducing the Bolero
system by the end of the year, after the implementation of a dedicated gateway server in
the Mitsui headquarters.
A spokesman for Mitsui said that, by using bolero.net, the group
expects to save on internal administrative costs and to be able to develop "new trade
and logistics based products."
The Japanese trading house was one of 120 companies worldwide that
participated in bolero.net trials earlier in the year.
