The French ocean carrier will make its maiden call to Port Bronka, located on the outskirts of St. Petersburg, Russia, on Jan. 28.
Port of Bronka investor Fenix LLC and French ocean carrier CMA CGM signed a long-term agreement for handling and storage of container cargo Dec. 15, the Port of Hamburg said.
CMA CGM will begin calling Bronka Jan. 28 with the Voronzeth, the ocean carrier said.
The Voronzeth operates on the St-Petersburg Shuttle Service D (FBLD), which has a current rotation of Rotterdam, Hamburg, Ust Luga, St. Petersburg and Rotterdam, according to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting.
The loop operates with one other vessel, the Vladimir. Both vessels have a capacity of 1,730 TEUs. FESCO, along with CMA CGM’s subsidiary lines ANL and Delmas, purchase slots on the FBLD.
Situated along the southern bank of the Gulf of Finland on the outskirts of St. Petersburg, Russia, the deepwater Port of Bronka has a first-stage water depth of 14.4 meters, which allows it to handle post-Panamax vessels.
The port comprises a container terminal, a roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) terminal and a logistics center. The container terminal is equipped with five berths alongside quays that extend 1,200 meters, while the ro-ro terminal features a quay length of 710 meters with the ability to handle three ships simultaneously.
