Hamburg Sud names Vespermann to head dry tramp shipping
Hamburg Sud, a German ocean carrier, has appointed Arnt Vespermann as head of Dry Tramp Shipping (Container Tonnage and Bulk) for Rudolf August Oetker (RAO), part of the Hamburg Sud Group.
Vespermann, an attorney, has managed Hamburg Sud's legal department since 1999, which he will continue to do after his new appointment becomes effective Jan. 3.
Vespermann succeeds Rudiger Sommer, who is retiring at the end of 2005 after 31 years with Hamburg Sud. Sommer has managed RAO's Dry Tramp Shipping Division for 25 years.
