U.S. Customs CIO retires
Woody Hall, 55, resigned Monday from his post as assistant commissioner and chief information officer for the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection, effective Nov. 1.
Hall, who is retiring from government service, has been in charge of providing information technology services for Customs and the new bureau since 1998. He has led the Customs computer system modernization program, including the Automated Commercial Environment under development to replace the existing Automated Commercial System.
Commissioner Robert Bonner named Charles Armstrong to take over Hall's duties until a full-time replacement can be found. Since 2001 he has been heading the program office implementing ACE.
