LOSSES WIDEN AT BRAZIL’S VASP AIRLINES
Brazilian airline VASP reported a net loss of 87.1 million real ($48.2
million) in the first quarter this year, compared to a loss of 29.1 million
real in last year’s comparable period.
Sales at the carrier, buffeted by Brazil’s currency crisis and poor
economy, fell 12.5 percent to 405.3 million real.
