COSCO Container Lines said Monday it plans to hike rates on both the transpacific and Asia-Europe trades in the coming weeks.
The eastbound transpacific increases, effective Dec. 1, are:
- $320 per 20-foot container, $400 per 40-foot container, $450 per 40-foot high-cube container and $506 per 45-foot container to U.S. West Coast ports and for intermodal cargo via these ports destined to points in California, Oregon and Washington.
- $480 per 20-foot container, $600 per 40-foot container, $675 per 40-foot high-cube container and $760 per 45-foot container for all intermodal cargo and mini-landbridge intermodal cargo via U.S. West Coast and Canadian ports destined to points other than those in California, Oregon and Washington, as well as for all-water services to U.S. East and Gulf coast ports and for all intermodal cargo via these ports.
The increases apply to origins in the Far East and Indian Subcontinent.
The carrier also said it will hike Asia-Europe rates from Nov. 1. The increase is $150 per TEU and $200 per FEU. The increase applies to destinations in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean, including Black Sea ports, from origins in the Far East and Indian Subcontinent. – Eric Johnson
