Columbus Line, Crowley American Transport renamed Hamburg Sud
The Hamburg Sud shipping group will stop using the trade names Columbus Line and Crowley American Transport and replace them with its own name in January.
The German group, which recently also stopped using the regional brand name Kien Hung, said the carrier names Columbus Line and Crowley American Transport “have been used only in certain trades and countries.”
The group has provided services to Latin America under the name Crowley American Transport since 1999, when it acquired the U.S./South America liner shipping business of Crowley Maritime Corp.
The Hamburg Sud shipping group now provides north/south liner services linking:
* South America with Europe, North America, the Mediterranean, Asia, South and West Africa.
* Europe with the Mediterranean, India and Pakistan.
* Australia/New Zealand and the Pacific islands with Asia and North America.
