The “AUX” service will use nine containerships of 2,700-TEU capacity. Zim will provide five of the vessels.

The service will cover ports in mainland China, South Korea, Central America, the Caribbean and U.S. East Coast, with a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Pusan, Colon (Panama), Kingston (Jamaica), Port Everglades, Savannah, Norfolk, Colon, and back to Shanghai.

Zim said that Panama and Kingston will serve as transhipment hubs for Central America, U.S. Gulf ports, and the West Coast of South America.
