Deringer chief confident with firm’s position on U.S./Canadian border

Northern border freight forwarder and customs broker A.N. Deringer has assessed its internal operations and technology systems to meet its future commitments to shippers that use the U.S./Canadian border.

Wayne R. Burl, president and chief executive office for the St. Albans, Vt.-based company, said to clients in a recent letter that some new positions will be added while others will be changed or phased out within the organization.

“We are confident that these changes will position Deringer to provide what our customers want, both now and in the future to ensure that we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time,” Burl said.

Deringer has already increased its transportation and logistics services sales more than 16 percent in 2003. “Based on performance through April, we are on pace to do the same or better in 2004,” Burl said.

Deringer combines more than 30 U.S. offices with a global agency network to move cargo throughout the world.
