ABS appoints Wiernicki executive VP
The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), a Houston-based international classification society for vessels and marine-related facilities, has named Chris J. Wiernicki executive vice president and chief technology officer.
Wiernicki had been president of ABS Consulting, the risk management affiliate of ABS. He replaces Donald Liu, who has retired from ABS after 38 years of service.
ABS has also appointed Todd Grove president of its ABS Americas Division, effective May 1.
Grove was vice president, western region, for ABS Europe. He will replace Robert E. Kramek, who becomes president and chief operating officer of ABS on May 1.
