CONFLO LINES SWITCHES HUB FOR U.S./EAST AFRICA LINK
ConFlo Lines, the non-vessel-operating common carrier division of Chicago-based Orleans Shipping Ltd., is changing its operational hub to move cargoes from the United States to East Africa.
ConFlo will now use the Eastern Mediterranean region to transship its cargo bound for East Africa. Cargo had been transshipped via northern Europe.
ConFlo will now offer weekly services from the U.S. East and West coasts to the East Mediterranean region, using slot-charter arrangements with carriers, including COSCO and Zim Israel Navigation Co.
From Eilat, ConFlo will transship cargo via landbridge and feeder services to the Indian Ocean ports of Mombasa, Dar-es-Salaam, Port Louis, Beira and Maputo.
