EXEL PROMOTES SHARED-USER LOGISTICS FACILITIES IN U.S.
Exel, the supply chain management service provider, has announced the availability of shared-use distribution services at most of its North American locations.
The company’s core concentration of shared use will be in Atlanta; Chicago; Dallas; Los Angeles; Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Toronto and Mexico City.
Exel said that the shared-user logistics facilities are aimed at companies needing flexible and cost-effective access to warehousing and distribution.
“Through shared-use, companies can achieve efficiencies by sharing transportation capacity and warehouse space with other companies at Exel’s multicustomer campus locations, with Exel operating as the single point of contact in local, regional and global markets,” it said.
Larry Thomas, vice president, consumer Americas at Exel, said that the logistics company works with small to mid-size businesses that need distribution operations without long-term lease or capital commitments, as well as larger companies requiring assistance “to handle anything from new acquisitions to seasonal
overflows of business.”
Exel currently provides shared-use distribution services to manufacturers and retailers of medical supplies, consumer products, industrial equipment and chemicals.
