Sunken barge slows vessel traffic in Mobile
A barge loaded with crushed limestone, which sunk earlier this week in Alabama’s Mobile Ship Channel, is still causing some delays to vessel traffic.
The U.S. Coast Guard issued a notice on Thursday to expect continued one-way vessel traffic in the vicinity of the sunken barge, “Irvington,” and temporary closures when divers are in the water surveying the wreck.
