EUROPE, CHINA TO HOLD NEW ROUND OF WTO ACCESSION TALKS
Pascal Lamy, European Commissioner for Trade, said that European and Chinese trade negotiators will resume talks aimed at finalizing a bilateral deal on China’s accession to the World Trade Organization.
The discussions will take place in Beijing in the week commencing May 15. The date was agreed with Chinese Trade Minister Shi Guansheng.
The previous round of lengthy discussions between Europe and China was in March.
The U.S. and several other major trading partners of China have already concluded bilateral agreements to pave the way for the entry of China in the WTO.
