Decline in U.S. international air freight traffic accelerates

   U.S. international air freight and express traffic fell by 10.3 percent in October, to 993 million revenue ton-miles, marking a further deterioration of volumes.

   October’s 10.3-percent fall in freight and express traffic represents the seventh month in a row of declining volumes, according to statistics published by the U.S. Air Transport Association.

   For the first 10 months of 2003, international freight and express traffic dropped by 1.5 percent, to 9.1 billion revenue ton-miles.
