APHIS EVALUATES HOG CHOLERA STATUS FOR EAST ANGLIA MEAT IMPORTS
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has released its evaluation of the hog cholera status for East Anglia, United Kingdom, and the risks of importing meats from this region.
“This evaluation will be used as a basis for determining whether to relieve certain prohibitions and restrictions on the importation of pork and pork products and swine into the United States from East Anglia,” the agency said.
The evaluation is available online at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/ncie/reg-request.htm. APHIS will also take comments from the industry regarding the evaluation through May 12.
