Intercontainer-Interfrigo buys outstanding shares in Pannoncont

   Swiss intermodal company Intercontainer-Interfrigo (ICF) is now the full owner of Hungary’s rail-road combined transport operator Pannoncont Kft after buying the outstanding shares in the company from Intercontainer Austria GesmbH.

   ICF had owned 40 percent of Pannoncont while Intercontainer Austria held the remaining 60 percent. No financial details of the transaction were disclosed.

   “Taking over Pannoncont is a further sign of the company’s commitment to its core business, namely combined transport between Western and Eastern/South-East Europe,” ICF said.

   “As a major importer/exporter and transit country, Hungary is a of crucial importance to us in this process,” said Franz Boni, ICF’s chief executive officer.
