SCHENKER TAKES FRENCH TRANSPORT FIRM JOYAU
Schenker, the German transport and logistics group, has acquired the French transport firm Joyau.
The terms of the takeover were not disclosed.
Joyau has annual revenues of some 200 million euro (about $200 million) and 2,500 employees at 53 locations in France. It is mainly a land transport operator.
Schenker said that its acquisition will optimize its distribution operations in France by making its network denser.
“This move makes Schenker one of the country’s top logistics providers, and the takeover greatly strengthens Schenker’s own capacities in France and increases the size of the company’s French customer base many times over,” the German group said.
Schenker previously operated 35 logistics locations in France with around 900 employees.
For the time being, Schenker subsidiary Joyau will continue to operate in the market under its own name. It will be fully integrated into the Schenker organization.
