Hong Kong’s January throughput up 1.1%
The Port of Hong Kong, the world’s second-largest container port behind Singapore in 2005, handled 1.9 million TEUs in January, up 1.1 percent compared to a year ago.
Hong Kong’s Kwai Chung container terminal posted year-on-year volume growth of 4.5 percent to 1.2 million TEUs. The port’s other terminals reported a 4.3 percent decline in volume to 695,000 TEUs in January.
