Germanischer Lloyd passes 50 million gross tonnage
German classification society, Germanischer Lloyd, said the order boom in international shipping has helped push its classified tonnage past the 50 million gross tonnage mark for the first time ever.
Germanischer Lloyd said its register comprises more than 5,730 vessels worldwide.
