TNT POST REPORTS ANNUAL EARNINGS GROWTH

TNT Post Group, parent company to the Dutch postal service and international express
company TNT, said net income grew 18.2 percent to 820 million guilders ($405 million) in
1998.

Revenue increased 7 percent to 16.3 billion guilders, as the company continued
expanding through acquisition, primarily in Europe. The company has purchased stakes in
two express delivery firms in France, two logistics companies in Italy, and a direct mail
company in Germany since being listed on the Dutch stock exchange last year.

The company expects net income to grow between 10 and 15 percent in 1999.
