ST&R TO PROVIDE JAPAN INDUSTRY REPORT ON CHINA CUSTOMS LEGAL REFORM
Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg has been awarded a contract by the Japanese Machinery Center for Trade and Investment to develop a survey and seminar on China Customs legal reform.
Zhaokang Jiang, an ST&R associate for trade negotiations and legislative affairs in Washington, will create the survey and teach the seminar on Dec. 4 in Tokyo.
Zhaokang, who joined ST&R in August, is a six-year veteran and former deputy director of law and regulations for the General Administration of Customs. He has been active in numerous Customs modernization initiatives since the mid-1980s. Zhaokang has also led the Task Force of China Customs for amending the customs law and drafted the Regulations on Customs Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights and other major Chinese customs regulations.
The Japanese Machinery Center for Trade and Investment is a nonprofit organization created by the large Japanese machinery exporters and is authorized by the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry to help prevent unfair exporting practices.
