CHINA SHIPPING, CMA CGM, KIEN HUNG TO ENTER ASIA/U.S. EAST COAST
Shanghai-based China Shipping Group, CMA CGM of France and Kien Hung of Taiwan will enter the Asia/U.S. East Coast trade in April when they launch a joint weekly container service.
The three carriers are finalizing the plan and are expected to announce details of their service rotation in the next few days.
According to a source at Kien Hung, China Shipping Group and CMA CGM will contribute a total of about nine ships to the new service, with Kien Hung taking space on the vessels.
China Shipping Group and CMA CGM entered the transpacific trade last year, when they commenced separate weekly Asia/U.S. West Coast services on their own.
