CUSTOMS ISSUES RULE ON REUSE OF SHIPPING DEVICES FROM CANADA, MEXICO
U.S. Customs has posted a final rule to its regulations on instruments of international traffic arriving in the United States from Canada and Mexico.
The rule, effective May 23, amends Customs regulations to include certain reusable shipping devices arriving from Canada or Mexico in the list of merchandise excepted from the requirement that all merchandise imported in the United States be entered.
Customs said that because the amendments merely conform with existing law or regulation, notice and public procedure are unnecessary. Customs also said that a delayed effective date is not required. Customs said the author of the document was Janet L. Johnson, Regulations Branch, Office of Regulations and Rulings.
