Port of Tacoma announces new director of security
The Port of Tacoma said Thursday it has named Ramon “Quique” Ortiz director of security.
Ortiz recently retired after a 22-year career with the U.S. Coast Guard, most recently serving as Commanding Officer of the Maritime Safety and Security Team in Seattle.
Ortiz previously was deputy group commander of the Coast Guard’s Group Eastern Shore, supervising more than 130 active duty and reserve personnel in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. He served as executive officer and deployable team leader for the Coast Guard’s Tactical Law Enforcement Team.
