DHL launches new distribution center in Brazil for Sanofi

DHL Supply Chain established a new distribution center in Guarulhos, Brazil for global life sciences company Sanofi, featuring 36,000 square meters of fully air-conditioned storage space and nearly 50,000 pallet positions.

DHL Supply Chain, the contract logistics specialist within Deutsche Post DHL Group, established a new distribution center in Brazil for Paris, France-based Sanofi, a global life sciences company.
The new distribution center is located in Guarulhos, near São Paulo, and consolidates the operations of three Sanofi divisions in Brazil, covering all portfolios of Sanofi, Sanofi Pasteur and Medley Brazil, DHL said.
“Previously, Sanofi and Medley had independent logistics operations even though they shared about 70 percent of their customers,” Rodrigo Alponti, Supply Chain Director at Sanofi Brazil said. “The project is in line with Sanofi’s global strategy to strengthen its presence in emerging markets.”
The new distribution center is equipped with 36,000 square meters of fully air-conditioned storage space and nearly 50,000 pallet positions.
Guarulhos was the chosen site for the distribution center because of its proximity to Sanofi’s industrial plants, large consumer centers and Brazil’s main logistics hubs, including the Port of Santos.
Sanofi initiated the project in 2014. In addition to the new logistics center, Sanofi redesigned its distribution networks for the complete Brazilian market and the corresponding export processes.
