E.R. Schiffahrt to charter 8,204-TEU ship to CMA CGM
German ship management firm E.R. Schiffahrt Friday put into service a 8,204-TEU containership that will be chartered to France’s CMA CGM.
The “E.R. Toronto” was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in Samho, South Korea. Nordcapital Holding of Hamburg owns the vessel.
CMA CGM will rename the vessel “CMA CGM Don Giovanni” and deploy it in the Asia/Europe trade.
E.R. Schiffahrt now manages 63 container ships with a total capacity of about 287,000 TEUs. It also has 13 ships on order from HHI, with a combined capacity of 60,000 TEUs, due to be delivered by 2008.
